Road Cycling from the Lodge
Directly from the lodge there are many great cycling routes from as little as 2km up to 150 plus km round circuits. The lodge is ideally situated on the valley of L'Arac floor. This ensures you never have to cycle up a mountain to get back for your Evening Meal.  It also allows  you to do many different loops, which always bring you back to the lodge along the valley road.   The very pretty Col de Saraille links the routes you ride over to other valleys and  is along traffic free roads and amongst beautiful mountain scenery. Alternatively you can ride on the flat valley road.  Below we have profiles for you to look at of some of the climbs. There are many more such as Col le Trappe, Col de Portech, Col de Sarialle. Of course all these climbs can be done from both sides. The joy of our lodge is however its situation to all these climbs. Col d'Agnes - 2km from lodge , Col de Port - 2km from lodge, Col de Core - 15km from lodge, Col de Crouzette - 1km from Lodge.  Plateau de Beille voted 5th best climb in Europe in 2007 is 40km from lodge but easily doable in a day.

In 2007 the 15th stage of the Tour the France went right alongside our front door, in 2008 the 11th stage passed about 5 km from our back door. In 2009 the 8th stage passed through Massat, which is about a ten-minute-walk from our lodge. By way of the Col d’Agnes the racers went to the finish in Saint Girons. The lodge is in a superb position for any cyclist wishing to tackle the Cols of the Tour de France.
