Tour de France 2010

We think we have done really well for Tour de France routes - 2007 Right past the door of the lodge - 2008 7 km away and  2009 just 2km away in our local village! For this years etappe- nr 15 monday 19th july Pamiers-Bagnères de Luchon- you have to cycle a little further. The start in Pamiers is 50km from the lodge. Better and more spectacular options are passage through St.Girons 25 km or the climb on the col de Portet d'Aspet.

Each year not only has our lodge been the perfect base to see the Tour de France but also for cyclists doing the Etape and we have had many guests visit us for just this purpose.  As our lodge is so well situated it is probably more cost effective and easier to actually come to the lodge for training than it is to seek out 'tough' climbs in UK. We feel this applies particularly to cyclist living in the South of England where they are able get cheap easyjet or Ryanair flights and be cycling on the real thing in no time!

Although the 2010 Etape de Tour route is not on our doorstep the Cols certainly are and therefore can provide the perfect training base to get your legs in shape for Mont Ventoux.

As our lodge is completely flexible you do not have to restrict your self to training for a week, long week-ends are just as benefical . We have found, each year that our guests have  benefited greatly from experiencing Tour de France Cols first hand.
