Wat onze gasten zeggen
In June of 2018 I was invited to ride the Midi-Pyrenees's with five friends staying at a cycling lodge which I knew nothing about. The Lodge is owned and... read more run by Elma Blokker and her husband Mark Putter. These proprietors have for me set the new benchmark in customer care. Their attention to detail never stops the moment you arrive. Mark is not only a owner but a true renaissance man capable of just about anything. His shop adjacent to the lodge is the ideal spot to store and repair any bicycle. And Mark, is a superb mechanic dedicated to making sure your ride is not compromised in the event your bike sustains air transport damage or more, as mine did. He got me up and riding immediately. Oh, and did I say that there may not be a better location for a bike hotel in France. Yes the Tour rode directly in front of the lodge this year. If you are looking for challenging rides this is one of the bests hotels in which to reside. Elma, his wife was every bit as good as Mark when it came to making sure we fueled up properly for the day ahead. Moreover, she is a motivator who always helped us keep our spirits up, even when the weather turned a wee bit foul. If you want a cycling week of fun, challenge, and fellowship this is the lodge for you.... We are keen cyclists and were planning a week in the Pyrennes where we waned to spend 3 days cycling. We went through various options whether to drive down with... read more bikes etc. My husband found les deux velo on line and communicated via email with Mark who was incredibly helpful, advising on routes we would find suitable, bike fitting, equipment. We flew to Toulouse and then had an easy drive of approximately a couple of hours to the cycle lodge where we arrived in time for an amazing dinner that Elma had prepared and enjoyed the company of other guests. Mark fitted us for our bikes the following morning then we were straight out cycling. The Col de Port is a breathtakingly beautiful cycle with a gradual gradient and a gateway to all the stunning routes you can take in the area. the restaurant at the top was a delight with incredible views. We had some fantastic weather, incredible cycling and lovely lunches in the local bars/restaurants. We felt very welcome by Elma and Mark, breakfast and dinner were always excellent, the lodge very comfortable, excellent bikes and a hassle free way to get a few days of cycling in such an incredibly beautiful area of France. Service, location and value all 5 stars - unable to click to rate location, value on hotel ratings.
